Introducing: Nextdoor

It has come to my attention there is a new tool to use for communication in our fine neighborhood. Let me introduce Nextdoor! (thanks to a certain neighbor for sharing on our Facebook Page). Very similar to Facebook, except with many of the features this website was also offering. It is my personal opinion that, any more, every website that exists to encourage communication between neighbors is a good thing, so that no one might go without being aware. Some neighbors may prefer to not use Facebook, some may prefer only Facebook. In this day and age, having options is your friend. So, yes, we should absolutely promote the use of Nextdoor, Facebook and this site to accommodate every persons’ privacy preference. With that in mind, here is a quick break down of what this site could/does offer that Nextdoor and Facebook may not:

• A privately owned list of neighbors’ information that will NEVER be shared with third parties
• A guarantee of persistence as long as the neighborhood sees fit/desires
• Ability to raise funds through advertisement and electronic donation
• Ability to provide information electronically to an organized association for betterment of the neighborhood
