Walkways in Parkside:  People were wondering about the painted red dots on the trees in the commons areas. The red dots are trees marked for pruning. If the tree is marked with a number, it’s due to be cut down. Thank you to the Morgans for checking with the City on this.

Patrol Miles:  In 2010, our approximately 75 patrol members logged nearly 6,000 miles and approximately 950 hours of drive time in our four neighborhoods. This averages to near 80 miles and 12 hours per year per patrol person. This is volunteerism at its best, especially with gasoline prices at $3.50 per gallon. This is rarely mentioned except among the patrol people. It’s important that the entire area be aware of what these patrol people do for the neighborhoods. These numbers do not include the New Walking Patrol members, some of whom walk everyday during the nice weather. It would not be uncommon for a Walking Patrol person to log 180 miles if they walked a mile per day for half the year. For some of our Walkers, this would just be a warm-up.

Good Job MTPG Citizen Patrol!!!!!!
